Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 17, 2026 · Last updated: June 17, 2026
Meridian Foundry (“Meridian Foundry,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a small independent software company based in Texas that builds applications for Apple platforms. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our website and our apps, and is intended to apply to all apps and services we offer. Where a specific app has practices that differ from this policy, that app will say so.
We designed our apps to keep your personal information private. The short version: the content you create in our apps stays on your device and in your own private iCloud account, where we cannot see it. We collect only a limited amount of anonymous, app-level analytics and performance data to understand how our apps are used and to keep them working well.
Information you create stays yours
The data you enter into our apps — such as the records, notes, amounts, dates, and settings you create — is stored on your device and, where you have iCloud enabled, synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. This content is held in your private iCloud database.
We cannot see, access, retrieve, or sell this content. It is not transmitted to Meridian Foundry's servers (we do not operate servers that receive it) and it is not shared with any third party other than Apple, solely to provide iCloud sync across your own devices. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
We do not require an account
Our apps do not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, phone number, or other contact details to use them. We do not maintain user profiles that identify you.
Our website
meridianfoundry.net is a static site. Standard server access logs — such as IP address, user agent, request path, and timestamp — may be retained briefly by our hosting provider for security and operations.
Analytics and performance data we collect
To understand which features are used and to detect and fix performance problems, our apps use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring. Through these tools we collect limited, app-level information, including:
- A randomly generated, pseudonymous app-instance identifier
- The actions taken within the app, recorded only as the shape of an action (for example, the type or category of a record, or that “an item was created”) — never the content you enter, such as names, notes, or dollar amounts
- Device and software information, such as device model, operating system version, language, and app version
- An approximate, coarse region derived from your IP address (your precise location is not collected)
- Performance and diagnostic metrics, such as app start time, responsiveness, and network request timing
We deliberately limit analytics to the shape of activity so that the personal and financial details you enter never leave your device or your private iCloud. This information is not linked to your identity, and we do not use it to identify you.
We do not track you across other apps or websites
Our apps do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), do not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt, and do not include third-party advertising. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
Notifications
Some of our apps can schedule local reminders or notifications on your device. If you grant permission, these notifications are scheduled and delivered locally by your device. The content of your reminders is not sent to us.
How we use the information
We use the limited analytics and performance data described above to:
- Understand which features are used and how, so we can improve our apps
- Identify, diagnose, and fix crashes, errors, and performance issues
- Make product decisions and prioritize improvements
We do not use this information to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.
Service providers
We use Google (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring) as a service provider to process the analytics and performance data described above on our behalf. Google processes this data subject to its own terms and privacy practices. You can learn more about how Google handles data in the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.
Apple provides iCloud/CloudKit, which stores the content you create in your own private iCloud account; this is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Data sharing and sale
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes. We share data only as described in this policy (with our analytics service provider) or where required to comply with applicable law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or Meridian Foundry.
Data retention
The content you create remains in your device storage and your private iCloud account until you delete it or remove the app. Analytics and performance data is retained by our analytics provider for a limited period in accordance with its standard retention settings and then deleted or aggregated.
Security
We rely on the security protections built into Apple's platforms and iCloud, and on the security practices of our analytics provider. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we handle.
International users
Our analytics provider may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. By using our apps, you understand that this limited analytics and performance data may be processed in those locations, which may have different data protection laws than your own.
Children's privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Your privacy rights and choices
Because we do not require an account and the content you create stays in your own iCloud, you remain in direct control of your information:
- Access and export: You can review your data directly in the app, and where the app provides an export feature, you can export it for your own backup or portability.
- Deletion: You can delete individual records within the app, and you can remove all app data by deleting the app and clearing its associated iCloud data.
- Stopping analytics collection: You can stop all further analytics and performance collection by uninstalling the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA) — including rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information, and the right not to be sold to (we do not sell personal information). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
“Do Not Track”
Our apps do not track you across third-party apps or websites, so we do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be reflected in an updated version of this policy. Your continued use of our apps after an update means you accept the revised policy.
